Appuseries
came with another educative video meant to teach children about their digestive
system. A young girl is “calling” the digestive system and asks logical
questions meant to clarify every of its aspects. Knowing all its components and
functions, we can have a better idea on what is happening with the food once
entered into the mouth. When food enters the mouth, digestion of the food
starts by the action of mastication, a form of mechanical digestion, and the
wetting contact of saliva. Saliva, a liquid secreted by the salivary glands,
contains a substance which starts the digestion of starch in the food. After
undergoing mastication and starch digestion, the food will be in the form of a
small, round slurry mass. Then, this mass travels down the esophagus and
reaches the stomach. The main substance found into the stomach is the gastric
juice which is responsible of digestion.
The little
girls is explained all the organs the food passes; these are: mouth, esophagus,
liver, stomach, gall bladder , pancreas, large intestin, small intestin and
rectum. The digestion begins at the same time you put the food into your mouth.
The little girl find out that the teeth have a major contribution of breaking
the food apart, while the saliva helps to soften the food. It is very important
for children to have a basis since childhood, in order to have a good
perception upon their organism.
